Templates for Key Account Managment

Key Account Management and what it means

Being a key account manager includes several tasks and can get overwhelming from time to time. You not only need to know who your valued customers are but also understand where they stand, what their needs are and be able to see their potential. Most companies have many different tools and communication channels in usage, which makes it hard to gather all the information and break it down to determining factors. Using Conceptboard helps to keep an overview and connect those tools. The template is accessible 24/7 in our Template Library and helps you to manage the full life cycle of a customer more easily.

How to create a clear and well-structured overview

First, you need to go through all available sources and filter all the relevant information about your accounts. This could be something like main contacts, account size, potential, et cetera. After you did that, you can transfer them on to your board. To make it easy for you, we created a set of templates to start with.

Standard

Our standard template (Loadlink) is divided into two areas and provides an overview of all your accounts. These are located on the left-hand side. Each account is assigned a card on which you can collect information. We have defined the following points:

  • Name
  • Contact person
  • Number and type of licenses
  • Number of users
  • Potential of the account
  • Links to the databases you use
  • Notes

Of course, as in all our templates, you can customize these according to your preferences. In the right-hand area you can manage general goals, to-dos and sensitive/urgent tasks. Use the sticky notes for this.

Detailed

The detailed template (Loadlink) is available for all those for whom a detailed overview is important. In addition to a map for your key account, there is an account-specific section with space for monthly to-dos, important customer-related information and targets. This gives you a more in depth overview of your accounts. The template can be expanded upwards and downwards as required. To-do this, copy the template and paste it above or below the existing row.

Building blocks

For all those who like to take things into their own hands, we offer a building block version (Loadlink). Here, you can build your board from scratch according to your own ideas, using the elements from the templates mentioned above.

Adaption

For it to work in the long run, you need to update the information regularly and filter out irrelevant information. We therefore recommend keeping the board as simple as possible. The aim is to provide an overview of the most important information and to navigate between the various tools you use, not to replace them.
