Azure Integration

Conceptboard now brings Azure directly to your boards. Import your Azure tickets as tasks, manage status and assignees, and keep everything in sync.

Important: Azure integration is disabled By default. Please request your team administrators to enable this feature in Team settings

Connect Azure to your Conceptboard account

Azure integration on boards:

  1. Open Board menu
  2. Select Connect services -> Azure
  3. In the pop up window that appears, choose Connect to Azure
  4. If the browser is already logged in, it will direct you to the task list. Otherwise, you can enter your credentials to access your account
  5. Your Azure account is now connected to Conceptboard

Insert Azure tickets into a board

You can access the search menu in two ways on boards.

Through the connected services menu

  • Select Import Azure issues

From the Insert menu

  • Select Insert Widget

  • Then select Azure Issues

Search menu for Azure tickets lets you:

  1. Select the Azure space you want to see tickets from.

  2. Using the top search bar, choose the tickets you wish to integrate.

  3. Enable search by WIQL query toggle at the top right of the menu if you want to use advanced search.

  4. Select one or more tickets by ticking the checkbox on the left 

  5. Select the Insert X issue(s) button.

  6. The search menu will close automatically 

  7. The tickets are added as tasks

  8. Azure tasks will appear one by one, arrayed at the centre of your screen

Azure integrated task on the board

Azure task displays the following information:

  • Issue summary
  • Issue status
  • Issue end date
  • Issue key and link
  • Last synced indicator
  • Azure icon
  • Task colour on task 

  • Custom Labels 

Task floating toolbar includes:

  • Colour: Changes the task colour line 
  • Label: Task custom labels for this board 
  • Sync from Azure: Send all task values from the Azure issue to Conceptboard
  • Sync to Azure: Sends all task values from the Conceptboard task to the Azure issue
  • Edit Task: Select "Task details", where you can edit more fields than what is visible on the task itself

When an Azure task is syncing, there are three indications on the task or board that this is happening.

  • A message at the top left corner of the board, and

  • A copy at the bottom of the task. (See red arrows in image.)

  • Azure task is disabled (greyed out) for all board users when syncing is in progress.
    This step is implemented to avoid concurrent sync requests. While the task is disabled, no interaction with it is possible other than moving it around the board

Important: It is only possible to sync one task at a time

Azure Task Details menu

You can access a detailed view of the Azure task:

  1. Select the ticket
  2. Select the Edit task option on the floating toolbar
  3. A pop-up will appear with the task’s details

The pop-up includes (some of the values can be edited):

  • Issue Link
  • Issue Type
  • Priority
  • Summary
  • Assignee
  • Reporter
  • Status 
  • End Date

To update the task in both Conceptboard and Azure:

  1. Select the Update Task button

  2. Select Cancel to cancel all changes

Disconnect Azure account on boards

To disconnect your Azure account from Conceptboard:

  1. Open Board menu
  2. Select Connect services
  3. Select Azure ->  Disconnect Azure account (This option is only available if you already have an account connected)
